We bought this Extreme Power Efficiency Device at the Ace Express (Ace Hardware inside SM Dept Store) last month during the SM Sta. Mesa 3-Day Sale. It was P1,999.75 minus the 10% OFF, minus another 10% OFF (this was all because of the 3-Day Sale) for a final net price of P1,620.00.
This is what it looks like:
I personally don’t believe that these types of products work, but na-sales talk Dad ko. And if we can cut even just 20% off of our electricity bill as opposed to the 35% claim, it would be worth it.
So despite my misgivings, we bought it. I read the instructions and it said to plug it ALONE into any wall socket and CANNOT be plugged beside high electricity consuming appliances like airconditioners, refrigerators, etc…
I plugged it into the wall socket of a room beside the kitchen (where our circuit breaker is) because the wall socket there is hardly used and nothing else is plugged into it. As you can see from the picture above, the plug can be turned sideways to accommodate whatever direction your wall socket is. The Extreme Power Efficiency Device must be plugged in vertically (nakatayo).
We got our Meralco bill today and I’m sad to say that our consumption even increased by about 10%. We didn’t have any major change in our electric consumption patterns, so I wasn’t expecting any change, and even expected our Meralco bill to drop because of the Extreme Power Efficiency Device.
I am disappointed but I am willing to give it another chance. So, one more month before I conclude that it’s useless? I will move it and plug it in our kitchen because that is where our circuit breaker is. Unfortunately we don’t have any free wall socket that doesn’t have something else plugged into it. The wall socket that is nearest to the circuit breaker has the refrigerator plugged in to it. The next nearest one is behind the stove (it might get hot there and be damaged by cooking spills). Another nearby wall socket has the oven toaster and coffee maker. I guess I’ll just have to plug it into the one beside the electric fan? Is that okay?
UPDATE (March 16, 2015): I’ve been told that the power saver has to be plugged into the same circuit as the aircon or refrigerator. Since we have subcircuits for different items, I’ll have to figure out where I should plug the power saver.
If someone has any suggestions on how to make this Extreme Power Efficiency Saver work, I would be so grateful if you can share it in the comments!
