The L’Oréal Paris Pure Clay Mask is now available in the Philippines!
I love clay masks! They can be messy to take off, but when you feel the difference in your skin, it will be worth it. As the clay dries up on my face, I imagine it soaking up all the oil, deep-seated dirt and toxins on my skin.
We’re all so used to sheet masks now that seeing a clay mask being offered was a pleasant change.
L’OREAL PURE CLAY MASKS
Last Tuesday, I attended a small gathering with mostly beauty bloggers and vloggers for a Spa Day where we got to try the new L’Oreal Pure Clay Masks.
The L’Oreal Clay Mask has 4 variants, each made with natural pure clay with botanical extracts allowing you to #ClayYourWay to a more revitalized and nourished skin:
- Illuminating – currently available
- Anti-Pores – currently available
- Hydration – currently available
- Detoxify – will be available in September
HOW TO USE THE L’OREAL PURE CLAY MASKS
First, you have to start with a clean face! At the launch, we used L’Oreal Micellar Water to clean our face of any dirt.
You can use one mask for your whole face, or you can use a combination! That’s one of the advantages of using clay masks – you can mix and match the mask to the type of skin on your face. 🙂
Here’s a quick guide:
The Anti-Pores is usually used on the T-Zone because that’s where we tend to be oiliest, but feel free to use it anywhere you feel like you have big pores.
I felt like the Hydration one was the most soothing for my skin:
Just apply a thin layer of the L’Oreal Pure Clay Mask on your face, and leave it for 10 minutes! While waiting, you can do other things, like watch a funny video, or catch up on social media. Since the event was a spa theme, we had a masseuse available to give us a massage! I had a hand and back massage while waiting for my 10 minutes to be up, and I didn’t notice that I had already exceeded 10 minutes because I was so relaxed during my massage. It’s best to use a hair tie or a head band to keep hair away from the mask. I didn’t bring one so my hair kept sticking to the mask! 😀 Here is the mask, just applied:
The clay mask dries up a little after some time on your face, that’s normal. Here’s what it looks like after 15 minutes. Yeah, it’s supposed to on for only 10 minutes but I lost track of time… 🙂 The Anti-Pores and Illuminating masks had already dried, the Hydration mask was still hydrated. 😀
After the 10 minutes is up, rinse off the mask with water. Make sure to wash off all the clay. Personally, I like to use a mild exfoliating facial cleanser after a clay mask to make sure that all the clay is removed, but that’s just me. And then I put on some good moisturizer – you’ll notice that the moisturizer is more easily absorbed into the skin after a mask!
We even got Lazada’s Sydney Dondon to try it after much encouragement (i.e. we basically forced him, hahaha). Men can use it, too!
L’OREAL PURE CLAY MASK QUICK REVIEW
The masks are thick, but still easy to apply. They also smell really nice. Very spa-like. They are still made of natural clay, so they still smell like clay a little, but not like mud. They smell relaxing. I also love the teal / blue green color scheme!
The Illuminating mask has small exfoliating beads to help remove dead skin cells. The Anti-Pores mask felt a little tingly, like mint. The Hydration mask really felt very comforting on my skin, without feeling greasy.
After I rinsed off the masks, the skin on my face felt tighter (for Anti-Pores and Illuminating masks), like all the impurities have been sucked right out of it! 😀 The areas where I applied the Hydration mask felt more moisturized. I would say these masks do what they claim to do. 🙂
Additional info: Another advantage that I wanted to include is that unlike sheet masks, you can actually use the clay masks on your neck! We often forget about our necks when we do our beauty routines, but we also need to take care of our necks to keep them looking tight and radiant, too!
I noticed that these are different from the L’Oreal Pure Clay Masks for the US market. These seem to be developed for the Asian market, which, in my opinion, is not a bad thing. We Asians have different skin needs so these products might take that into consideration. 🙂
